The WTH? Music & Film Festival is the flagship event of WTH? Studios, bringing together filmmakers, musicians, creators, and audiences through screenings, performances, conversations, and live experiences. Since launching in 2024, the festival has welcomed more than 1,200 attendees across Newark and Los Angeles while creating opportunities for emerging talent to showcase their work and connect with new audiences.

Early Beginnings: What The Hell?!
Short Film Premiere
In January 2024, we hosted an evening celebrating independent film, music, and emerging talent, featuring a curated showcase of creative work and the premiere of the original short comedy film, What The Hell?!. What started as a single night of storytelling, community, and laughter would ultimately lay the foundation for the WTH? Festival's continued growth.
Launch: Los Angeles Debut (2024)
In June 2024, WTH? Music & Film Festival officially launched with its first festival event in Los Angeles, bringing the WTH? vision to the West Coast. Hosted at Flat Factory Studio, the event brought together filmmakers, musicians, and audiences for an evening of independent films, music videos, live performances, and networking opportunities.
The Los Angeles debut demonstrated WTH?'s ability to connect emerging talent across markets while growing the festival's reach beyond its New Jersey roots.
Homecoming: Newark 2025
As WTH? Festival continued to grow, the 2025 Homecoming event marked its most ambitious programming yet. Hosted across two days in Newark, NJ, the festival brought together filmmakers, musicians, and creators through live performances, screenings, networking opportunities, and educational programming.
The weekend culminated with the sold-out premiere of What The Hell? Again?!, showcasing WTH?'s commitment to developing original content while creating opportunities for creative community building.
The New Hollywood: Newark 2026
In April 2026, WTH? Festival celebrated New Jersey's growing film industry with The New Hollywood campaign. The event featured networking opportunities, film showcases, and original programming, including the debut of Actin' Up, a live improv comedy show, and the world premiere of Operation: Is Jersey The New Hollywood?. Bringing together filmmakers, musicians, and creatives from across the region, the event highlighted the energy, optimism, and opportunity surrounding New Jersey's creative future.
